During the pandemic and the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020, I ended up leaning more into podcasting to stay busy (between being a stay-at-home-stepdad). Over the past few years, I’ve been involved with recording and editing numerous different shows, including: Epik Fails of History, Podcasters Assemble, 2 Young 4 This Trek, Comic Zombie, and The Super Switch Club - all of which can be found at ProbablyWork.com!
Epik Fails of History is a podcast about the most epic fails… of history (and what we can learn from them)! – everything from The Great Emu War of 1932 to Y2K! Created and edited by Erik Slader, co-hosted by Chris Carroll. (Recommended for ages 13 and up due to some mild language, crude humor, and discussions of war or disasters.)
The Super Switch Club is a documentary-style, crowd sourced, hype/re-play podcast where players from around the world are invited to relive the nostalgia of retro games on the Nintendo Online virtual library – from the NES to the 16-bit era and beyond! It’s kind of like a book club, but with video games! (Part of the We Can Make This Work Probably Podcast Network!)
Podcasters Assemble is a documentary style, crowd sourced, movie hype/re-watch podcast. Every season, podcasters from around the world are assembled to review, reminisce, and riff on a popular franchise! Season 1 covered the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Iron Man to Endgame, Season 2 revisited the Star Wars saga, Season 003 tackled all 24 James Bond films, Season 4 was an epic countdown to Godzilla vs Kong, Season 5 reviewed the Mortal Kombat movies / games, Season 6 covered all things Ghostbusters, in Season 7 we plugged into The Matrix, and for Season 8 we watched every live-action Batman movie, and on Season 9 we assembled once again to talk about the Jurassic Park franchise!
2 Young 4 This Trek - There have been nearly 800 on screen stories in the Star Trek franchise. Erik, MC, and Troy have seen them all, and now they’re on a mission to introduce their friend, Tyler, to the galaxy-spanning series in a completely nonsensical order on “Too Young For This Trek: A Star Trek Podcast”! After diving in with a recap of Picard Season 1, the guys compiled a list of some of the best (and worst) episodes from the entire franchise’s history for Tyler to pick from at random in an effort to make the continuity of Star Trek even more confusing!
Comic Zombie is a podcast about everything from comic books, to movies about comic book characters, to tv shows about comic book characters, co-hosted by comic book junkies… Chris Carroll and Erik Slader.
